Section 5310 Grant Funding

Transpo is a designated recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding for the Section 5310 "Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities" grant program. The Section 5310 grant project offers federal funding to support capital projects (securing vehicles) that provide transportation to older individuals and those with disabilities.

Eligible recipients of Section 5310 funding include private not-for-profit organizations and authorized units of local government within Indiana. To be considered, projects must be derived from the Public Transit - Human Services Coordinated Plan for the Michiana Region (available at macog.com). Projects also require local matching funds of 20% of the total project cost.

Grant applications will be available starting Monday, June 26, 2017 and organizations seeking funding under Section 5310 are invited to attend an Informational Session on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will provide a general overview and provide the opportunity for questions about Section 5310 grant funding and application process. The meeting will be held in the Transpo Board Room, located at 1401 S. Lafayette Blvd in South Bend. Transpo anticipates approximately $234,000 in federal assistance for this funding cycle.
