Transpo Reopens and Extends Deadline for Final Offers from Bidders for Northside Property
Transpo announced today, in response to new information the three responsive bidders are expected to receive from the City of South Bend, that Transpo has reopened and extended the deadline for the bidders to submit final proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of the Northside Property. The three final bidders are Century Builders, Matthews LLC and Place Group. All three bidders are located in South Bend.
Transpo issued the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Disposition of the Northside Property on February 5, 2014 with initial proposals due by April 11, 2014. The Northside Property was home to Transpo’s headquarters prior to the relocation to the Emil “Lucky” Reznik Administration, Maintenance and Operations Facility, a LEED Platinum property, in 2010.
Transpo has conducted interviews with the bidders, a public meeting and consulted extensively with a consensus building group comprised of representatives from the City, Downtown South Bend, Inc., key businesses, employers and the surrounding neighborhood with respect to the future of the Northside Property. Revised final proposals are required to be submitted by the bidders by 5:00 p.m. on August 22, 2014.
