Transpo to Provide Free Service and Parking Shuttles for SB150
Transpo announced that Saturday, May 23rd will be a Free Service Day in honor of South Bend's Sesquicentennial Celebration. All Transpo fixed routes throughout South Bend and Mishawaka will be free on Saturday.
Transportation has played a key role in South Bend's history and, with anticipated SB150 attendees reaching the 40-50,000 range, a great option for getting to and from the festivities taking place throughout downtown South Bend.
In addition to the free fixed routes fares on Saturday, Transpo will provide free shuttle service between the SB150 remote parking lots and celebration events taking place on Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 24 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Click HERE for more information on the parking areas.
Transpo's SB150 shuttle service will mark the first time Transpo's new compressed natural gas buses are in service. "SB150 is a great opportunity to showcase the new, innovative look of Transpo as the new buses connect people to the celebration of our community's past, present and future," said David Cangany, Transpo General Manager.
