South Street Station to Close to Public
Today the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation (Transpo) announced in order to protect the health and safety of Transpo passengers, employees and the general public, the South Street Station lobby and restrooms will close to the public on Monday, March 30, 2020.
Transpo passengers are able to wait for buses using the exterior bus shelters and are asked to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.
In-person pass sales will not be available at South Street Station due to the closure. Day passes are available to purchase on board all buses for $3.00. Exact cash fare is required as drivers cannot provide change.
The Information Line will be available at 574.233.2131 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Starting on Tuesday, March 31, the Information Line will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturdays. Passengers may also contact Transpo’s main office at 574.232.9901 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Greyhound ticket booth will remain open. Greyhound passengers may see the security guard stationed at the main entrance for access. Passengers will not be permitted to wait in the lobby. For information on Greyhound, call 800.231.2222 or visit greyhound.com.
Transpo reminds all passengers to comply with Governor Holcomb’s directive to stay at home. Transpo should only be used for essential travel.
