Transpo to Operate Reduced Service Schedule Due to COVID-19
Transpo is announcing a temporary reduced Monday through Friday Service Schedule will be effective on Monday, April 6, due to COVID-19. Service will run from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with hourly frequency on most routes. Transpo and the Interurban Trolley, operated by MACOG, will jointly run Route 9 and the Yellow Line to maintain regular service between South Bend, Mishawaka, and Elkhart. Transpo’s Saturday Service Schedule will remain the same and Transpo will continue to be closed on Sundays. Transpo will return to a regular service schedule as soon as possible.
Adjusted timetables for all routes will be available on the routes and fares tab on Friday, April 3. Transpo’s Information Line will be available Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 574.233.2131 to assist with the transition.
Like many public transit agencies across the country, Transpo is experiencing a significant decline in ridership and operator shortage due to COVID-19.
Transpo reminds all riders to comply with Governor Holcomb's stay-at-home order. Transpo should only be used for essential travel. All riders are asked to practice social distancing and sit at least one seat away from other passengers. Transpo will be limiting the number of passengers on board buses and additional buses will be added to routes as needed (subject to availability).
