Transpo to Resume Regular Service on Monday

Transpo announced today that regular service will resume on Monday, July 6. Transpo previously implemented a Reduced Service Schedule on April 6 in response to COVID-19.

The South Street Station lobby and Information Booth will also reopen on Monday, July 6 with physical distancing measures in place. The Information Booth and Information Line at 574.233.2131 will be available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

For the safety of all riders, and in accordance with the St. Joseph County and Elkhart County Health Department orders requiring face coverings in public spaces, Transpo passengers are required to wear face coverings at South Street Station, the Mishawaka Transfer Center and on board Transpo buses. Passengers are also asked to follow physical distancing guidelines when possible. The Information Booth at South Street Station will have face masks available for passengers (limit of one per passenger, while supplies last).

“Transpo provides vital connections to employment, healthcare and other opportunities so while we are excited to move to this next phase, we are also cautious”, said Amy Hill, Transpo General Manager & CEO. “It is important for employees and passengers to take precautions such as wearing a face covering and maintaining the recommended distance of six feet whenever possible.”

The timeline for resuming regular service is subject to change based on local, state and CDC recommendations.
