Transpo’s FREE K-12 Summer Travel Program Returns for 2021
Transpo's FREE K-12 Summer Travel Program will return for 2021. All K-12 students will be eligible to ride all Transpo fixed routes for free the months of June, July and August.
To be eligible for the free rides, students must show their valid student identification card. Students who do not have a school ID card, may contact Transpo at 574.232.9901 or visit the Information Booth at South Street Station or Main Office, located at 1401 S. Lafayette Blvd to obtain a Summer Travel Pass.
Transpo has partnered with MACOG and the Interurban Trolley to expand the Summer Travel Program. All K-12 students will also be eligible for free rides on the Interurban Trolley.
The Summer Travel Program first began in 2013 and provided K-12 students with unlimited travel during the summer for a discounted rate of $30. In 2018, in order to introduce more K-12 youth to public transportation and increase access to employment, educational and recreational opportunities, the program was offered at no charge.
The record-setting program provided over 31,255 rides in 2019.
